The way we are born has profound effects on us and our lineage.

This is underpinned by the ancient physiology of birth, Indigenous cultural knowledge and practices from around the world and modern research into pre and perinatal psychology.

When we are gestating we are receiving what we need through our placenta and this continues in the moments after birth as we transition from water to land, as we learn to breathe air.

This transition is designed to work, supporting a gentle and safe transition for baby and mother / parent. In the vast majority of modern births this wise and ancient process is interrupted, our transition from water to land is harsh and our connection to placenta cut off prematurely.

Many of us were robbed of autonomy over our first breath.

This experience is, in our view, a microcosm for the macro world and echoed by the overarching systems that are void of connection to land and spirit.

It mirrors the ways we are separated from land, culture and collective responsibility.

Join us in a FREE exploration of birth imprints and what it means to reclaim power through our first breath. We are bringing together wisdom from te ao Māori, birth physiology and the lineage of Rebirthing Breathwork to explore the value of reclaiming our first breath.
